Here are a list of a few things to keep in mind before your session to help make your pictures the best they possible can be.

First and foremost take a deep breath and relax. Getting your picture taken is fun not painful. It should not be stressful. So sit back relax and leave the worry to me.

Keep in mind your child's schedule when booking an appointment. Try to avoid being to close to any nap or meal time. If you have a very shy child and are worried about getting that real smile on the day of the shoot feel free to arrange a pre photo day playdate. We’ll go to the park and I’ll introduce my self to your child. I don’t go anywhere without my camera so he or she will be introduced to that as well in a casual environment were he or she doesn’t feel the pressure of performing on the spot.

Appearance

One of the most common questions I’m asked is what should we wear? The truth is wear what you feel comfortable in and something you like. If you feel good about the way you look it will show in your pictures. When dressing your kids make sure its something that you think looks good on them. Just keep in mind simple is always better. Try to stay away from busy patterns and logos. If your doing a family portrait make sure clothing if not matching at least coordinates and compliments each other. Doing Jeans and shirts of similar color and style is always a good bet.

Locations

When you book your appointment I will ask you about what location you would like. Think of what you want out of session. Do you love being outside? Do you have a park you just love? Do you want a more studio feel? If you tell me what you want out of your session I am better able to help you find the perfect place for it.

The day of the session

Make sure everyone is well feed before the session and maybe even bring along a special snack like animal cookies or a sucker for afterward. Snacks should be simple and low mess. Young children should avoid foods that can temporary alter skin tons such as spaghetti, mashed carrots or pumpkin, Kool-Aid etc. If photographing very young children make sure to bring a change out of outfit just incase.
